New Beginnings

As we move into the New Year it is important for each of us to remember those around who have contributed so much to the cause of helping others. Each of us brings our unique talents and life experiences to the table when we sit down to try and help our brothers and sisters in this community.

It is because of our diverse and varied backgrounds that our organizations and community are strong, resilient and productive. It is also because of our backgrounds that we sometimes do not see eye-to-eye on what we believe to be the best way to help each other and help others.

As we begin a new decade, and as the ISGCI begins a new decade of service, we should recommit ourselves to our common goal: to serve our community the best we can with what we have. We must not overlook the talents and compassion of our comrades when we disagree, rather we should look within ourselves to identify and strengthen our common goal even as we share minor disputes.

Each new year people make resolutions and this year this is mine: to forgive those who I have felt wronged by, and to ask for the forgiveness of those who have felt I have wronged them. Let us work together for there is strength in numbers and our cause is a noble one.

In Service and Friendship,
JD
